A Day in the Factory

When you enter the workspace, the enthusiasm of the seamstresses stands out. They smile despite the heat.

We’ve overcome many challenges here as well. Where Axel was perhaps a bit too quick to place trust in people, since early 2024 we now have a very dynamic management team. Edwin, who worked in our production for many years, has grown into a managerial role along with Siva, who previously handled the finances. Together, they lead the factory in a very people-friendly but also efficient way.We start production at 9 a.m., and Nagammal prepares delicious tea for a break around 10:30 a.m. At noon, we provide a tasty meal for the team, and in the afternoon, there’s another round of delicious tea.

The employees interact in a friendly manner, and many of the women, who previously didn’t have jobs, are growing in their self-confidence. And they are incredibly talented. The care they take in making your cotton bags is impressive.

But of course, it’s not just about production. Designers, planners, and management are also busy at work. And you should know that Edwin, one of the two CEOs, spends half of his time on the shop floor, has a great sense of what’s going on, and maintains personal contact with all of our heroes. Even in the office, many of the staff are gaining their first work experience, and they are trained from the very beginning. They are also happy to learn a bit about European cultures.

P.S. Here’s a little secret: Our CEO Axel often stays a few extra days in Azhagiapandipuram because Nagammal’s tea and coffee are so good that they genuinely make him happier than a kid in a candy store. Trust us, it’s worth it!
